Master Bath ceiling: true ceiling, furred ceiling, a 12 in soffit dropping 7 in on a steel frame and plywood deck, the 2-1/2 in maple board with the cove LED diffuser flush with its top, and the downlights, with their measurements.

Maxxima 2 in anti-glare, 600 lm, 36° beam: 3.16 in trim, 2.5 in cut-out, 2.6 in deep, J-box on a 9.3 in cord. In the soffit 5-7/8 in from the wall (the cut-out clears the steel cheek frame), trim flush at 87-9/16 in above the floor.

Soffit build

12 in wide, 7 in down. 2-1/2 in maple board plus a 4-1/2 in reveal; the LED diffuser is flush with the board top, 4-9/16 in under the ceiling.
